 COMMUNITY MEDICINE ROTATION

Family & Community Medicine Residency Rotation

In 2010, UT Health San Antonio Family & Community Medicine Residency Program established a partnership with our center to implement a Community Medicine rotation for 2nd-year residents to further their education about community-oriented primary care (COPC) through experiential activities outside of the family health clinic setting.

Since then, we have collaborated on over a dozen of community-focused projects and initiatives that have led to publications and presentation opportunities. But above all, our partnership has lead to a better understanding of the overall context of the patients' lives and the healthcare needs of the communities served.

Today, in addition to the community medicine rotation, we work with other residents and medical students to address the priorities of our communities.
